Sleeper cabin was comfy

So I tried the Sleeper Cabin on the Prague to Amsterdam route. It was pretty cool, way better than sitting on a regular train all night. Had my own space, which was nice. Getting the breakfast service with it made the morning easier. It arrived on time too, which is always a plus. Overall, a pretty chill way to travel, felt good about it.

Consistent service for Brussels route

I've used European Sleeper a few times now, mainly for the Brussels to Berlin night train. This last trip was just as reliable as the others. The 6-person couchette was clean, and the staff were helpful. It's why I keep coming back; I know what to expect, and they deliver. Good to see they maintain their standards.

Good value, easy booking

I was looking to save some money on my trip from Amsterdam to Berlin and decided to try the European Sleeper. The early bird fare for a couchette was definitely the best option I found. Booking was straightforward on their site. Felt like a solid purchase for the price, definitely worth it for a budget-conscious traveler.

Decent ride, a few kinks

Booked a Private Couchette for the Berlin to Brussels night train. The compartment itself was good, clean enough, and gave us the privacy we wanted. The main issue was the Wi-Fi; it was spotty at best, which was a bit annoying. Delivery was on time though, and the process of getting our tickets was smooth. Value was okay for the price, but they could improve the onboard connectivity. Still a good way to travel overnight.

Thinking of taking my bike on the night train from Amsterdam to Prague. Is it usually straightforward or is it a hassle to get it on board?

W William Perez 1 month ago
It's pretty easy from my experience! You just book a spot for it when you get your ticket, and there's usually a dedicated area. Just make sure to get there a bit earlier to load it up.

They do have bike transport! Just remember it's an extra fee and you need to reserve it in advance. It's not like you can just roll up with it on the day.

Just curious, do they do any student discounts? Or is it mostly just the Interrail pass thing?

B Betty Jones 1 week ago
Nah, I've never seen any specific student discounts for European Sleeper. It's usually the Interrail/Eurail thing or just booking early for the cheap fares.

Afaik, no student discounts. Your best bet for saving money is definitely using an Interrail pass if you have one, or just snagging those early bird tickets when they first drop.

Are the private couchettes worth the extra cash compared to just a regular 4-person one? Like, do you get more space or just privacy?

N Nancy Gomez 2 weeks ago
It's mainly for the privacy. The space isn't massively different from a regular couchette, but not having strangers in with you is a huge plus if you value that. Especially for a longer trip.

I think it depends on who you're traveling with. If it's just you or you and a partner, the private couchette is awesome for peace and quiet. If you're with a group of friends, a regular 4-person is probably fine and cheaper.

how does European Sleeper compare to Nightjet? Never taken a night train before so trying to figure out which one to try.

P Paul Brown 2 days ago
Both are good honestly! I've used both. European Sleeper feels a bit newer/fresher to me on some routes, but Nightjet has a much bigger network. For routes like Amsterdam-Berlin, they're pretty similar in service levels.

Nightjet has more routes overall, but for the specific cities European Sleeper serves (like Brussels to Prague), I'd say they're quite competitive. Check prices and schedules for your specific trip, sometimes one is just a better deal or fits your timing better.

Hey, I'm looking at booking a trip from Brussels to Berlin for July. How far in advance do these tickets usually sell out, especially for a couchette?

O Olivia G. 4 weeks ago
Summer is super popular, so if you want a specific couchette type, especially for July, I'd book it like yesterday. They open bookings way out, so earlier is always better for the best prices too.

Yeah, I tried to get a sleeper for August last year in May and it was already pretty picked over. Ended up with a 6-person couchette, which was fine, but definitely book ahead if you have a preference.
